A cold snap in Florida

Here in Florida, we have our own temperature scale.  70°F elsewhere equals 0°FL (Florida temperature scale).  Right now it’s over 30 degrees below zero (Florida scale).

Something I'm working on

This is a track I just started working on in the last few days (before coming down with the flu). Just the first 90-second build-in right now.

"Undocumented Feature" on the new iPods - Recording!

http://www.utterli.com/u/utt/u-ODAyNTIxMg#utt-ODAyNTIxMg

Apple apparently has snuck in an 'undocumented feature' into its latest generation of iPod Classic and iPod Nano, and also apparently into the latest generation of MacBook laptops.

If you have an iPhone headset (with the in-line microphone/music switch), you can use it on your 7th-generation iPod Classic to record voice memos without a third-party add-on like the Griffin iTalk. The Utterli link at the top of this post is to a voice memo recording I actually made using this method, by simply plugging in the headset from my iPhone into the earphone jack of my new 120 GB iPod Classic.  I assume this also works with the latest-generation Nano (with the tall screen). It records in low- or high-quality mono and the quality is quite good.  The music-switching feature of the iPhone headset (pinching the mic once starts/stops, twice skips to next track) also works on the new iPod Classic (and assume new Nano).

I've also noted online that users are reporting that the music-control features of the iPhone headset work on the new aluminum MacBooks as well and that they've been able to use their iPhone headset mics as well.

How kewl is that?
